Calls Mount for Chicago Sky to Make Chennedy Carter Move After Indiana Fever Loss

While the Chicago Sky became popular last season because of their star rookie duo — Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso — neither of these players were the best on the roster in 2024.

That distinction belongs to guard Chennedy Carter, who scored 17.5 points per contest last year. This was a top-15 mark in the league, and she did it on incredibly efficient shooting splits.

New Sky head coach Tyler Marsh and general manager Jeff Pagliocca chose not to re-sign her this offseason, however. Instead, she signed with a professional team in Mexico and has been dominating in the early part of the season.

The Sky got off to a brutal start in the 2025 WNBA season, as they got blown out by the Indiana Fever on opening night. The 93 to 58 loss was highlighted by Reese’s 12-point, 17-rebound double-double, but she needs more offensive help.

In response to the viral video of Carter from Mexico, which reached nearly 40,000 views, fans began to call on the Sky to bring back their former leading scorer. This is despite her numerous on-court disputes with players like Caitlin Clark.

“The Sky visibly misses her scoring and the pressure she puts on the defense,” one fan wrote.

“come back to chicago💔💔 they didn’t mean it!” another commented.

“Sky MAKE THE (expletive) CALL,” a fan added.

“Somebody tell her Chicago needs her,” another fan wrote.

“Sky need her back asap,” a fan responded.

“@chicagosky Look like you guys could use more scoring after Saturday’s performance,” one fan chimed in. “Just pick up the phone and invite her back! It’s that simple!”

Adding a strong scorer like Carter would certainly be in order for Chicago, who were already one of the worst offenses in the league last year with her on the team. Things seem to have gotten worse already for the Sky in 2025 without her.

Carter’s presence would not only help the team improve, but it would add another layer to the remaining four matchups against Clark and the Fever. While it may make the game even more tumultuous and hostile, it would give the Sky a fighting chance.
